Sana'a: The Deputy Minister of Education, Teaching, and Scientific Research, Dr. Hatem Al-Doa'is, affirmed the ministry's commitment to activating the programs and activities of the Literacy and Adult Education Authority. This announcement was made during a speech delivered by Dr. Al-Da'is at the conclusion of an expanded consultative meeting organized by the Literacy and Adult Education Authority under the slogan "Towards an Effective Local Participation."
According to Yemen News Agency, Dr. Al-Doa'is emphasized the importance of concerted efforts and the need for everyone to be aware of their responsibilities to support the Authority's endeavors aimed at reducing illiteracy in the country. He recognized the challenges posed by the scarcity of resources and the difficult circumstances in Yemen due to ongoing aggression and the siege, which have affected the nation's educational infrastructure.
Hassan Al-Houthi, the head of the Literacy and Adult Education Authority, provided an overview of the efforts made to develop the Authority's plans and programs. These efforts are aimed at ensuring a qualitative leap that addresses the dropout rate in formal education. During the meeting, which included directors of Literacy and Adult Education offices in various provinces and authority leaders, Al-Houthi highlighted initiatives to improve work mechanisms and performance levels, with the goal of increasing student enrollment in literacy and adult education centers.
