Sana'a: Deputy Minister of Education and Scientific Research Dr. Hatem al-Duais launched the final phase of the scientific and cultural curricular competitions for the children of martyrs, organized by the educational districts in the capital over three days.
According to Yemen News Agency, the Deputy Minister reviewed the progress of the competitions at Maeen School in al-Safiyah district. He listened to an explanation from Abdullah al-Makhdi, Director of al-Safiyah Educational District, about the competitions. On the first day, 181 male and female sixth-grade students representing various educational districts competed at Ma'in School for Girls and Khalid bin Al-Walid School for Boys.
Al-Makhdi explained that the competitions would continue with seventh and eighth-grade students competing on the second day, followed by first and second-year secondary school students on the final day.
The launch event was attended by key figures such as the Director General of the General Authority for the Care of Martyrs' Families, Hussein Al-Sheikh, and the Secretariat's Education Sector Official, Abdulqader Al-Mahdi. Dr. al-Duais praised the efforts of everyone involved in organizing both the initial and final stages of the competitions. He emphasized the significance of these scientific and cultural competitions in fostering a competitive spirit among students and schools, serving as a motivator for continued effort and success.
Dr. al-Duais also expressed his condolences to the families of the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the sovereignty of the nation. Schools from the Shu'ub Educational District won the boys' competitions on the first day, while schools from al-Thawra Educational District succeeded in the girls' competitions.
