Sanaa: Deputy Minister of Telecommunications and Information Technology Eng. Ali al-Makni met on Monday with the head of the National Human Rights Authority, Ali Taysir, to discuss areas of cooperation and coordination between the ministry and the authority. The meeting focused on enhancing collaboration to protect citizens, particularly children, in the digital environment.

According to Yemen News Agency, al-Makni emphasized the importance of promoting public awareness through religious, national, and moral responsibility. This initiative aligns with the directives of Houthi leader Abdul-Malik al-Houthi and the government's "Change and Building" program. Al-Makni highlighted the ministry's dedication to supporting efforts to protect vulnerable groups, such as children, adolescents, and young people, from digital risks.

In response, Taysir commended the Ministry of Telecommunications for its support of the authority's initiatives to ensure child safety online. He noted a recent workshop's positive outcomes, which focused on child safety in the digital environment. Taysir expressed optimism that the ongoing cooperation would lead to a comprehensive plan to shield children from digital threats while reinforcing religious and moral values among the youth.

The meeting concluded with Taysir presenting the Ministry of Telecommunications' leadership with the authority's shield, recognizing its significant contributions to protecting children from digital risks.
