Deputy Minister of Youth, Sports Honors Champions of Pencak Silat Development Tournament

Sana'a: The Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports, Nabeh Nasser, honored today the champions of the Development Tournament for Pencak Silat clubs and centers, organized by the General Federation of the sport and held over two days with the participation of 25 players from various governorates.

According to Yemen News Agency, during the honoring ceremony, the Deputy Minister of Youth emphasized the significance of development tournaments as a foundation for discovering and nurturing young talents, considering them vital for the future of Yemeni sports. He extended his congratulations to the winners who achieved top positions, expressing his hopes that all practitioners of the sport will continue to achieve results that align with the aspirations and ambitions to elevate Pencak Silat both locally and internationally.

The Deputy Minister reiterated the Ministry's commitment to supporting active federations that are dedicated to cultivating the talents of their members, ensuring a supportive environment for the continued success of combat and individual sports.

Vice President of the Pencak Silat Federation, Mujahid Al-Mudahawi, highlighted the competitive nature of the tournament, which featured promising talents among the youth and junior categories. He also mentioned the federation's plans to organize the Republic Championship, involving players from different governorates, to select the national team that will represent Yemen in future international competitions.

The ceremony included demonstration performances by Pencak Silat stars, showcasing their skills in various styles such as movement, free fighting, and Ganda.

In conclusion, the Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports, along with Assistant Deputies for the Sports Sector, Hussein Al-Khawlani and Dr. Kamal Al-Sharif, and Vice President Al-Mudahawi, awarded cups, medals, and cash prizes to the champions, honored the referees, and provided specialized sports equipment to the clubs and centers to support ongoing training efforts.
