Amran: The Misdemeanors and Traffic Prosecution Office, in coordination with the Health and Environment Office in Amran Governorate, has destroyed five tons of smuggled and expired medicines, comprising 834 different items.
According to Yemen News Agency, Assistant Prosecutor of the Misdemeanors Prosecution, Judge Yahya Al-Qassas, explained that the destroyed quantities were seized and confiscated from pharmacies and drug warehouses in the governorate. This action was carried out by the inspection committee of the Health Office, following the completion of legal procedures.
Judge Al-Qassas acknowledged the cooperation of the concerned authorities in the process. He emphasized their commitment to seizing and disposing of these medicines due to the risks they pose to consumer health and the environment.
Dr. Hilal Al-Qudaimi, the Head of the Pharmaceutical Control Department at the Public Health Office, stated that this destruction process is part of ongoing regulatory measures. These measures aim to address violations and ensure the safety of medicines in circulation.
