Sana'a: A training course on evaluating development reports and strategic development plans for the year 1448 AH began on Tuesday at the Ministry of Local and Rural Administration and Development, with the participation of 17 Administration and Development Knights from the ministry.
According to Yemen News Agency, during the opening, Deputy Minister Nasser al-Mehdhar explained that the five-day course, organized by the ministry, comes as part of implementing the training policy aimed at enhancing the efficiency and capabilities of its staff in evaluation and integrated participatory planning. This initiative is intended to contribute to improving the strategic development plans of local authority bodies.
He highlighted the significant responsibility placed on the Administration and Development Knights in revitalizing local realities and motivating communities to actively participate in achieving local and rural development. Al-Mehdhar expressed hope that the outcomes of the course would help improve the quality of development reports and plans at the governorate and district levels, thus contributing to the advancement of development and services across all districts.
For his part, the course trainer, Mohammed al-Sanahani, stated that the training aims to equip participants with skills and experience related to concepts of decentralization, development, planning, budgeting, participation, and the roles of partners and various entities in the planning process. The course also covers methods used in evaluating and analyzing district-level development reports and assessing the readiness of districts to plan according to the integrated participatory planning methodology.
He added that the course will contribute to providing participants with knowledge related to the stages of planning and budgeting by defining the developmental goals of each district and assessing the extent to which development reports meet the required standards and templates.
