Dhamar: The first forum for empowering and developing small businesses concluded in Dhamar Governorate on Tuesday after three days of activities.
According to Yemen News Agency, the event was organized by the National Committee for Women in partnership with the General Investment Authority and funded by the General Authority for Small and Micro Enterprise Development. The forum featured an exhibition showcasing products from around 50 small businesses.
Dr. Ashwaq Al-Mahdi, head of the National Committee for Women branch, stated that the exhibition drew significant public interest, with many products selling out. She highlighted improvements in branding, visual identity, presentation, and marketing, which aided women entrepreneurs in promoting their products and boosting sales.
Al-Mahdi emphasized the need for a permanent venue to market products made by productive families, alongside continued specialized training and technical support. She also called for expanded handicraft programs to enhance production and quality.
The forum, conducted under the slogan 'Towards Decent Livelihoods and Sustainable Economic Empowerment,' introduced women entrepreneurs to investment opportunities and incentives under the 2025 Investment Law. It also reviewed financing experiences and the outcomes of several small and micro projects.
