Dhamar: A specialized training course was launched in Dhamar Governorate for agricultural extension workers focusing on animal health and beekeeping, aiming to enhance their skills in agricultural extension and value chains and add value to livestock and bee products.
According to Yemen News Agency, the course, which spans six days and is funded by the Executive Unit for Agricultural Projects, targets 30 agricultural extensionists from agricultural branches and associations. The initiative seeks to bolster their capabilities in promoting sustainable agricultural practices.
The Director of the Agriculture Sector, Dr. Adel Omar, emphasized the significance of equipping agricultural personnel to advance development efforts and encourage farmers to expand livestock and bee breeding. He also highlighted the importance of preventing the slaughter of female livestock to sustain growth.
During the course, participants will gain specialized knowledge in areas such as breed improvement, animal nutrition, feed cube processing, and the dairy and honey value chain. Additionally, the course will cover the significance of epidemiological surveillance to safeguard livestock against diseases, with the presence of experts in the field providing valuable insights.
