Dhamar: An expanded meeting in Dhamar Governorate, headed by Governor Mohammed Al-Bukhaiti, discussed the mechanism for implementing the outcomes of the consultative meeting to stimulate community initiatives and make the cleanliness campaign a success, scheduled to start on Tuesday and continue until the beginning of Ramadan.
According to Yemen News Agency, the meeting was attended by a number of officials, including Shura Council member Abdo Al-Alawi, General Mobilization Officer Ahmed Al-Dhorani, and President of Dhamar University Dr. Mohammed Al-Haifi, as well as directors of executive offices and neighborhood elders.
The governor emphasized the importance of cooperation to ensure the success of the cleanliness campaign and its transformation into a continuous practice. He acknowledged the dedication of sanitation workers and advocated for waste recycling. The governor underscored the role of neighborhood elders in supporting the initiative.
He highlighted the governorate’s achievements in maintaining cleanliness despite limited resources and urged backing for the “Purify My Home” campaign by the Awqaf Authority, which aims to clean mosques ahead of Ramadan.
Dhamar City Directorate Director Mohammed Al-Siqal called for the expansion of community initiatives and voluntary work, noting an initiative to clean the Eastern Region and repair its side streets.
Tribal Affairs Authority Representative Ahmed Ghilan outlined the cleanliness campaign plan, which involves contributions from executive offices with equipment, waste removal, clearing broken-down vehicles, and boosting community awareness to consider cleanliness a religious and moral obligation.
