Dhamar: The National Women’s Committee in Dhamar province organized an awareness workshop on Tuesday to discuss mechanisms for supporting productive family projects and enhancing product quality.
According to Yemen News Agency, the workshop was attended by 60 women from productive families and was coordinated with the local authority, the Small and Micro Enterprise Development Authority, and the Tax Authority. The event, themed “Together We Are Sufficient,” aimed to prepare for the sixth productive families festival and introduce a white loans program for women involved in productive activities.
Dr. Ashwaq al-Mahdi, Head of the National Women’s Committee branch in Dhamar, discussed preparations for the Ramadan productive families festival, which will serve as a platform for women to market their products and exchange knowledge. She announced the availability of white loans for productive families.
Salah al-Sayyadi, Director of Statistics in Dhamar, explained the loan application process, necessary guarantees, and methods for monitoring the use of loans. Ali Hatem, Director of the Tax Authority branch in Dhamar, and Amer al-Hajj, Director of Financial Affairs at the Authority, outlined tax exemptions and facilities for these projects.
They stressed the role of productive family projects in economic and social development, self-sufficiency, and reducing imports. They encouraged families to address challenges, prioritize product quality and packaging, and compete with imported goods.
Zainab al-Anesi, Director of the Businesswomen Services Department at the Tax Authority, highlighted the importance of supporting businesswomen and female entrepreneurs for national economic revitalization. She reiterated the Tax Authority’s commitment to providing tax exemptions for small and micro enterprises.
