Sana'a: The Disability Care and Rehabilitation Fund today transferred the first installment of educational aid for the 2024-2025 academic year, along with the fourth and final installment for 2023-2024, to students with disabilities enrolled across all educational levels (schools, vocational/technical institutes, universities, and postgraduate studies).
According to Yemen News Agency, Dr. Ali Mughalli, the Fund's Executive Director, stated that a total of 210,796,000 Yemeni riyals has been transferred to benefit 2,304 male and female students with disabilities in several governorates. This supports the Fund's commitment to enhancing education and rehabilitation for this group, facilitating their access to all stages of education, particularly in vocational and university sectors.
Dr. Mughalli emphasized the Fund's ongoing efforts to improve educational and rehabilitation opportunities for persons with disabilities, which are seen as crucial for social inclusion and economic empowerment. These efforts continue despite challenges such as declining revenues caused by ongoing aggression and siege.
Salim Al-Abyad, the Fund's Financial Director, explained that the transfers include the first installment for the current academic year and cover outstanding obligations from the previous year's fourth installment. He assured that efforts are underway to complete the disbursement of remaining installments for the new academic year promptly.
The disbursement also encompassed entitlements for students with disabilities in occupied areas, transferred via foreign currency exchange, underscoring the Fund's dedication to ensuring rights for all beneficiaries without discrimination.
