Sana’a: The Assistant Undersecretary for Services and Welfare Sector at the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor, who also serves as the Executive Director of the National Program to Address the Phenomenon of Begging, Yasser Sharafuddin, held a significant meeting today with Child Welfare International Country Director Mohammed Manna to discuss the organization’s upcoming projects for the year 2025 in Yemen.
According to Yemen News Agency, the meeting focused on protection activities aimed at supporting street children at risk, children in contact with the law, and juveniles residing in social guidance houses across various provinces. Sharafuddin emphasized the critical role of the partnership with Child Welfare International in safeguarding children and supporting sustainable living projects through economic empowerment, education, training, and rehabilitation.
Mohammed Manna, the Country Director of the Child Welfare Organization, underlined the importance of collaborating with the National Program to Address the Phenomenon of Begging. He highlighted the organization’s interventions concerning child begging and its ongoing efforts to protect children who are in contact with the law. The meeting concluded with an evaluation of the current program experience, aiming to replicate its success in similar future initiatives.
