Discussing needs of Al-Bayda in humanitarian and relief aspects

A meeting in Al-Bayda province, chaired by the deputy governor, Abdullah Al-Jamali, discussed the province's humanitarian and relief needs.

In the meeting that included representatives of the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), the director of the branch of the Supreme Council for the Management and Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs and International Cooperation in the province, Abdul Jabbar Al-Amdi, reviewed a report on the role of humanitarian organizations working in alleviating the citizens suffering as a result of the aggression and the siege.

The report touched on the coordination mechanism between the council, the local authority and international organizations to serve humanitarian work.

Undersecretary Al-Jamali pointed out the importance of working according to a clear and specific vision regarding needs and priorities, noting the efforts of the United Nations in implementing a number of emergency projects.

In turn, OCHA representative Khaled Awad referred to the projects and interventions that have been implemented for the displaced and affected people during the last period, stressing keenness to enhance cooperation with the local authority and expand activities.
