Sana’a: The Emergency Committee in Sana’a Governorate, led by the Undersecretary of the Services Sector Fares Al-Kahali, discussed the proactive plan to confront the damage of floods during the rainy season. They also examined the measures required to avoid potential losses.
According to Yemen News Agency, the meeting, attended by several concerned officials, focused on the priorities for handling floods. These included examining and cleaning drainage channels, addressing the causes of rockslides, and developing a matrix of needs to confront emergencies during the latter half of 1446 AH.
The committee approved the formation of an operations room dedicated to coordinating efforts among the relevant authorities and implementing urgent measures. Competent offices were assigned the task of reviewing the plan and submitting it within three days.
Undersecretary Al-Kahali emphasized the importance of “unifying efforts and collective work” to mitigate flood damage and ensure complete readiness to confront such situations.
