Sanaa: The Amran Water Basin Committee convened to deliberate on 13 applications concerning new well drilling and deepening in the basin’s districts. The meeting was chaired by Governor Dr. Faisal Jumaan.
According to Yemen News Agency, the session included notable attendees such as Engineer Fahd Sufyan from the water resources authorities, Engineer Kamal Al-Makhdhi from the Rural Water Projects Authority, Nabil Zaid from the Local Water and Sanitation Corporation, and directors from Ayal Serih and Amran, Mohammed Hiba and Abdul Rahman Al-Emad. The committee reviewed licensing applications for water wells in Jabal Yazid, Raidah, Ayal Serih, and Amran districts.
Governor Jumaan emphasized the necessity of thoroughly examining the license application files to conserve the Amran Basin’s water resources. He highlighted the collective responsibility in safeguarding these resources by adhering to existing laws and preventing unauthorized drilling activities.
Engineer Fahad Al-Sufyani, Director of the Water Resources Authority Branch, presented the technical aspects of the applications. His review included the locations and details of the submitted applications, the reasons for each request, their compliance with legal standards, and technical feedback on the proposals.
