Discussion of Cooperation Mechanisms Between Economy Ministry and Innovation Authority in Industrial Localization

Sana'a: The meeting in Sana'a, chaired by the Minister of Economy, discussed cooperation between the Ministry of Economy and the General Authority for Science, Research, Technology, and Innovation to localize technology and industries, and to support handicrafts and traditional products.

According to Yemen News Agency, the achievements of the Authority and its future plans were reviewed, with the Minister stressing the need to link scientific research with the needs of productive sectors, and to support projects with economic and social value, including business incubators and the medical plates project for people with disabilities.

The Minister emphasized the importance of moving from industrial assembly to full manufacturing, putting projects into actual implementation, and supporting the 7th Innovation Competition.

The Chairman and Deputy Chairman of the Authority stated that work has shifted from theoretical studies to practical application despite limited resources, and called for greater support.

The private sector confirmed its support for localization initiatives in partnership with the Authority, while the Innovation Registration Department presented its efforts in attracting inventors and protecting their innovations.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the Minister reviewed the progress of several projects and the challenges they face.
