Discussion of Red Crescent Society Interventions in Al-Hodeidah

Al-hodeidah: The First Deputy Governor of Al-Hodeidah, Ahmed Al-Bishri, met with the Executive Director of the Yemen Red Crescent Society, Abdullah Al-Ezeb, and the Director of the Society's branch in the governorate, Jaber Al-Razhi, to discuss the Society's interventions for 2025, primarily focusing on the emergency response to flood damage.

According to Yemen News Agency, during the meeting, priorities for humanitarian interventions in the affected districts were reviewed, along with mechanisms for implementing activities and projects, and aligning interventions with local authority plans to ensure coordination between the Governorate Operations Room, the Society, and its partners.

The First Deputy Governor praised the efforts of the leadership and teams of the Yemen Red Crescent Society in identifying the needs of affected communities and their humanitarian role in mitigating the impact of floods, emphasizing the local authority's support to facilitate the Society's work and remove obstacles to implementing its interventions.

For his part, the Executive Director highlighted the role of the Al-Hodeidah branch, its level of preparedness, and its readiness to respond to any emergency, stressing the importance of joint coordination and complementarity with governmental and humanitarian partners to enhance the efficiency of emergency responses.

Meanwhile, the Director of the Society's branch in Al-Hodeidah affirmed the branch's commitment to implementing humanitarian projects, conducting continuous field visits, and keeping pace with the needs of affected populations in the targeted districts to ensure timely and effective interventions.

The meeting also addressed the nature of the projects implemented this year across various emergency sectors, including health, water, food, and shelter, and prioritized interventions according to the degree of impact, ensuring the sustainability of essential services and projects in the most needy areas.
