Sana'a: Under the chairmanship of Acting Minister of Economy, Industry, and Investment, Sam Al-Bishiri, a meeting was held today to discuss the work plans and modernization projects of the Yemen Standards, Metrology, and Quality Control Authority.
According to Yemen News Agency, the Authority's Executive Director, Abdullah Al-Atifi, presented the current work plans, performance levels, and ongoing development projects, expressing gratitude for the support and oversight provided by the Acting Minister in implementing these initiatives.
Acting Minister Al-Bishiri praised the efforts of the Authority's leadership and staff, emphasizing the need for accelerated modernization projects, enhanced operational systems, and a strengthened regulatory role to protect consumers and ensure product quality in local markets.
The meeting highlighted key priorities, such as the Authority's critical role in safeguarding consumer rights and supporting the national economy. Al-Bishiri stressed the importance of completing laboratory projects, technical inspections, and automation systems, as well as ensuring efficient financial and administrative management to provide user-friendly services for beneficiaries.
Attendees at the meeting included Deputy Executive Directors, Abu Al-Hasan Al-Nahari and Dr. Kamal Margham, along with department heads. They reviewed several operational topics and took appropriate actions for their implementation.
The session reaffirmed the government's commitment to modernizing quality control systems and enhancing consumer protection mechanisms in Yemen.
