HODEIDA: The local authority, the Agricultural Society, and the Agricultural Extension Office in the Mansouriya district of Hodeida province launched the distribution of wheat seeds to several farmers in the district on Saturday.
According to Yemen News Agency, the directors of the directorate, Amer Ali, and the Agricultural Extension Office, Ibrahim Qalaas, alongside the executive director of the Agricultural Society, Mohammed Sharaf, loan officer Abdullah Rajhi, and the seed unit’s Abdo Hataba, distributed the seeds to 12 farmers. This initiative aims to introduce wheat cultivation in the directorate.
The director of the directorate highlighted that the distribution of wheat seeds to the targeted farmers is part of a broader strategy to cultivate wheat in Mansouriya’s agricultural fields to achieve self-sufficiency in cereal crops.
The sesame harvest in the district includes fields of 95 farmers, with an expected yield of 30 tons and 644 kilograms of sesame from an area estimated at 246 acres.

Sharaf, the executive director of the agricultural cooperative association in the directorate, stated that the association is committed to assisting farmers in marketing their agricultural crops, including sesame. This initiative is part of a plan aimed at encouraging farmers to boost production.
