Sana'a: Dr. Abdulaziz Saleh Bin Habtoor, a member of the Supreme Political Council, affirmed Sunday that the continued mobilization and attempts to impose new military equations will be met with the necessary measures to protect Yemen, its security, and its sacred sovereignty.
According to Yemen News Agency, Dr. Bin Habtoor explained that the ongoing Saudi military mobilization is not an isolated incident, but rather part of an escalation preceded by economic and political pressures, a suffocating blockade on airports, and restrictions imposed on ports. This reveals that the option of escalation and keeping Yemen under pressure remains on the Saudi side.
He said, "The attempt to transfer the escalation to the Yemeni interior through cheap local forces and tools of Yemeni mercenaries does not change the nature of the responsibility for it, nor does it absolve the Saudi side, which is behind this course of action, from responsibility for its consequences and repercussions."
He added, "We are not seeking a return to war, and we have demonstrated during the past years of de-escalation our commitment to giving the peace process a chance. However, this does not mean accepting the exploitation of the truce for mobilization or the imposition of new military realities on the ground."
Dr. Bin Habtoor considered the reliance on American and Zionist support, and the transfer of the confrontation to Yemeni territory and its management through local forces subservient to foreign powers-which would allow the Saudi side to remain untouched by the consequences of escalation-to be a misguided gamble.
He continued, "We cannot accept turning Yemeni territory into an open arena for confrontation while Saudi territory and interests remain immune from its repercussions. Our response will be commensurate with the nature of the event."
He reiterated that the Yemeni Armed Forces are closely monitoring suspicious movements hostile to the Yemeni people with utmost seriousness, and that the continued mobilization and attempts to impose new military equations will be met with the necessary measures to protect the great Yemen, its security, and its sacred sovereignty.
The senior political figure concluded his statement by saying, "The shortest path to avoiding escalation remains clear: stop the mobilizations and hostile actions, and move from managing the crisis and exerting pressure on Yemen to addressing its causes and implementing the requirements of peace in a serious and responsible manner."
