Sana'a:The Ministry of Economy, Industry and Investment has condemned the Saudi airstrikes that targeted a sponge factory in Shamlan, Sana'a, resulting in extensive material damage to the facility.
According to Yemen News Agency, the ministry issued a statement describing the attack as a dangerous escalation and a direct assault on Yemen's economy and citizens' livelihoods. It emphasized that targeting civilian industrial facilities, production sites, and popular markets represents a systematic campaign against the country's economic and service infrastructure.
The ministry held the Saudi forces fully responsible for the damage and losses incurred, stating that attacks on civilian and economic facilities amount to war crimes under international humanitarian law. The ministry affirmed its commitment to documenting the damage and violations to hold those responsible accountable.
Additionally, the ministry called on international organizations to condemn the attacks and to fulfill their legal and humanitarian responsibilities in response to the situation.
