Eight Tons of Counterfeit and Expired Drugs Destroyed in Radaa

Al-bayda: The Health Office in the city of Radaa, Al-Bayda Governorate, destroyed eight tons of drugs on Monday that were counterfeit, unauthorized for circulation, and expired.

According to Yemen News Agency, during the destruction operation, Al-Bayda Deputy Governor Saleh Al-Joufi praised the Health Office's efforts in carrying out inspection campaigns, field follow-ups, and seizing drugs that do not meet specifications. He emphasized the importance of strengthening pharmaceutical oversight to protect citizens' health and prevent the circulation of unsafe products.

Meanwhile, the Governorate's Director of Pharmaceutical Control, Dr. Tawfiq Al-Muraisi, and the Director of the Health Office in Radaa, Dr. Mohammed Al-Hubsi, noted that the destroyed drugs did not comply with the standards approved by the Supreme Board of Drugs and Medical Supplies. They explained that inspection campaigns of health facilities and pharmacies are ongoing and urged citizens to report any pharmaceutical violations or the circulation of unlicensed products so that they can be seized and destroyed in accordance with the law.
