Sa’ada: The Minister of Electricity, Energy, and Water, Dr. Ali Saif Mohammed, along with his deputy Adel Saleh Bader and the President of the General Organization for Electrical Industries and Renewable Energy, Abdul Ghani Al-Madani, recently visited the Dahyan power plant to assess its operational progress.
According to Yemen News Agency, the delegation was briefed on the developments at the Dahyan power plant, which began operations in November 2023. The facility features a hybrid system with a generating capacity of 1.5 MW and was constructed at an estimated cost of 390 million and 875 thousand riyals, financed internally.
Dr. Mohammed and his deputy emphasized that the Dahyan electricity project is a realization of the directives set forth by the revolutionary leadership, the Supreme Political Council, and the government’s program for change and construction. It aligns with the Ministry of Electricity’s strategic plan to expand electricity access to underserved areas.
They highlighted the commitment of both the ministry and the corporation to executing electricity projects in the province as a means to mitigate the hardships faced by citizens amid ongoing aggression and blockade conditions.
In addition to the plant inspection, the Minister of Electricity and Water formalized the transfer of an artesian well from the Rural Water Projects Authority to the local water and sanitation organization in Dahyan, with Engineer Mohammed Al-Saadi overseeing the handover.
