Taiz: The Electricity Corporation, the Water and Sanitation Corporation, and the Rural Water and Electricity Projects Authorities in the Taiz governorate organized a speech event on Sunday to commemorate the Prophet Muhammad's birthday, under the slogan 'At Your Service, O Messenger of Allah.'
According to Yemen News Agency, Sheikh Ridwan Al-Muhya, a member of the Yemeni Scholars Association, emphasized that honoring the Prophet's birth is rooted in monotheistic and intellectual principles closely connected to the objectives of his mission and the establishment of divine proof before all humanity. He regarded this commemoration as an opportunity to restore the nation's civilizational and spiritual standing, drawing on the Quran and the guidance of the Prophet and his Ahl al-Bayt.
Al-Muhya highlighted that gratitude for the blessing of divine selection is a Quranic principle, citing verses from the Quran that underscore the Prophet as a mercy to the worlds and a Messenger concerned for the believers. He further noted that rejoicing in the Prophet's birthday aligns with the Quranic command to honor and revere him.
He also discussed the need for the nation to develop an informed religious and political awareness that rejects dependence on global powers and supports the oppressed, particularly the Palestinian people. Al-Muhya contrasted the reverence shown by Yemenis with what he described as moral degradation in Saudi Arabia and the Gulf states.
Al-Muhya urged broad participation in the central celebration planned for next Tuesday at the 'Great Messenger' Square at the Mawiyah Junction and other designated venues.
Engineer Ghamdan Al-Khalidi, Director General of Taiz Electricity, expressed that the Yemeni people's commemoration of the Prophet's birthday reflects their deep reverence and respect. He reiterated Yemen's steadfast support for national causes, particularly the Palestinian cause, and for fighters in Gaza under the leadership of Abdulmalik Badr al-Din al-Houthi. Al-Khalidi described this support as an extension of the Prophet's supporters' legacy in defending Islam.
Furthermore, Al-Khalidi affirmed that the aggression and siege imposed on Yemen are a result of its unwavering positions in supporting the oppressed and adhering to the Holy Quran and the path of the Prophet.
