Electricity Minister Inspects Progress on Key Projects in Haidan District

Sa’ada: Minister of Electricity, Water and Energy Ali Mohammed conducted an inspection of several ongoing projects in the Haidan district, with a focus on the nearly finished Marran water project. This initiative aims to provide clean water access to approximately 25,000 residents in the Maran area.

According to Yemen News Agency, the Marran water project is funded by the Central Interventions Unit and UNICEF, with a total investment of two million dollars. The project is in its final phase, having reached 99% completion and successfully undergone pilot operations. During his visit, Minister Mohammed was briefed by Haidan district director Sadiq Ghubaj on the project’s significance in enhancing the quality of life for residents in this mountainous region.

Minister Mohammed stressed the importance of ongoing maintenance to ensure the project’s sustainability and expressed gratitude towards the donors for their contributions. He also reiterated the government’s dedication to delivering essential services to the community.

In addition to the water project, the Minister reviewed the progress of the Marran Road Lighting Project, which is being self-financed by the Ministry. He also inspected the ongoing improvements and expansion works of the Haidan electricity network, urging for their swift completion to better serve the district’s population.
