Emergency Committee in Al-Mahwit Discusses Readiness Enhancement Mechanisms

Al-mahwit: The Emergency Committee of Al-Mahwit Governorate discussed in its meeting on Sunday, chaired by the Secretary-General of the Local Council, Dr. Ali Al-Zaykum, mechanisms to enhance readiness and strengthen the capabilities of the emergency sector to respond to urgent situations.

According to Yemen News Agency, the committee, attended by the Governorate's Mobilization Officer, Ismail Sharaf Al-Din, and the Director of Security, Brigadier General Abdullah Al-Tawoos, reviewed the roles of the emergency committee at both governorate and district levels. They deliberated on ways to improve field readiness and methods to strengthen coordination with relevant authorities.

The meeting, which included directors of specialized executive offices, also addressed the role of the Civil Defense Directorate in conducting rescue and relief operations. It focused on minimizing human and material losses and emphasized supporting the directorate by providing necessary resources, mechanisms, and equipment to enable it to perform its duties efficiently.

The committee further reviewed essential requirements for handling emergencies and the training programs implemented to qualify field teams in first aid and relief operations. The attendees praised the readiness and discipline of the Civil Defense teams, stressing the need to double efforts and enhance coordination and integration among various agencies to ensure rapid and effective emergency response.

They affirmed that the exceptional circumstances facing the country require raising vigilance and preparedness, making full use of available resources, and enhancing information exchange among relevant entities to improve field performance and protect citizens' lives and property.

The committee approved several measures aimed at strengthening the emergency sector and raising readiness levels across the governorate's districts to ensure effective handling of any developments in the upcoming period.
