Mokha: The First Undersecretary of Taiz Governorate, Mohammed Al-Kholidi, alongside the director of the General Authority for Endowments and Guidance office in the governorate, Mohammed Al-Maliki, has initiated a campaign to care for mosques and congregational mosques in the Mokha and Al-Wazi'iyah districts on the western coast.
According to Yemen News Agency, the campaign's first phase focuses on cleaning, washing, maintenance, and preparation of facilities, beginning with the Ali bin Omar Al-Shazli Mosque in Mokha city. Al-Maliki emphasized the importance of maintaining and caring for the mosques, which is a priority for the Authority, underscoring their responsibility to preserve the sanctity and status of these religious sites.
The initiative targets all mosques and congregational mosques in the two districts. It involves comprehensive cleaning, washing, maintenance, and equipping them with basic needs. Special attention is being given to historical and congregational mosques to preserve their religious, architectural, and heritage value.
Al-Maliki highlighted that the campaign reflects the commitment of local and Authority leaderships to regard mosques as centers of knowledge, worship, and community cohesion. He affirmed the continuation of efforts to expand mosque care programs across various districts, recognizing the support from leaderships and valuing the contributions of workers involved in the campaign.
The director reaffirmed the office's dedication to fulfilling its responsibilities towards mosques and endowments. He explained that this campaign is part of an ongoing program to care for mosques, safeguard endowment properties, achieve their purposes, and reinforce the principle of endowment as intended.
