Sana'a: The General Authority for Endowments and Guidance and the Higher Academy for the Holy Quran and its Sciences in Sana'a organized a commemorative event marking the martyrdom of Imam Hussein, peace be upon him.
According to Yemen News Agency, during the event, the head of the General Authority for Endowments and Guidance, Allamah Abdulmajid al-Houthi, described the commemoration of Ashura as a significant historical event. He highlighted the momentous killing of the grandson of the Prophet, Imam Hussein, peace be upon him, at the hands of the son of a freed slave. This, he noted, illustrated the extent of the deviation that had befallen the Muslim community during that period.
