Sana'a: The Sana'a Central Prison organized an oratory event on Sunday to commemorate the annual anniversary of the passing of the late religious scholar and mujahid, Sayyid Badr al-Din al-Houthi. During the event, Major Mazen Isa, Director of the prison, highlighted the significant contributions of Sayyid Badr al-Din as a comprehensive Qur'anic school and a landmark in scientific, educational, and struggle-oriented fields. He emphasized the scholar's role in raising awareness and strengthening identity amidst misleading projects targeting the nation.
According to Yemen News Agency, Major Isa noted that Sayyid Badr al-Din's greatness is evident in his practical biography and scholarly experiences, which had a profound impact on those who knew him. He was known for his piety, wisdom, and courage, and played a pivotal role in fostering the scientific and educational environment that gave rise to the 'Qur'anic movement.' Sayyid Badr al-Din also supported the Qur'anic project initiated by Sayyid Hussein Badr al-Din al-Houthi and continued by Sayyid Abdul-Malik Badr al-Din al-Houthi.
Deputy Director of the prison, Captain Yahya Mahmoud, reflected on key milestones in the life of Sayyid Badr al-Din, emphasizing the importance of his values such as sincerity, steadfastness, and the nurturing of future generations. He stated that the anniversary is an occasion to celebrate his legacy in confronting falsehood and promoting authentic Islamic values.
Meanwhile, Abdullah Dalham, the cultural officer at the prison, remarked on the enduring relevance of Sayyid Badr al-Din al-Houthi's scholarly and struggle-oriented life. He highlighted the ongoing benefits the nation derives from the Qur'anic school established by Sayyid Badr al-Din, which integrated knowledge, steadfastness, and the practical application of Islamic values and noble morals.
