Hodeidah: An expanded awareness meeting for employees of the General Authority of Zakat office in Hodeidah province was held to enhance performance and develop the skills of zakat personnel. The meeting aimed to equip participants with guidance skills and the necessary knowledge to improve communication mechanisms with taxpayers and modernize the fieldwork system in a way that enhances zakat services provided to the community and strengthens trust in the field.
According to Yemen News Agency, during the meeting, Acting Undersecretary of the Awareness and Communication Sector at the General Authority of Zakat, Hifzallah Zayed, stressed the importance of the meeting in raising awareness among zakat employees so they can serve as ambassadors in promoting awareness of the importance of zakat as both a revenue source and a channel for distribution, while strengthening trust between taxpayers and the authority.
He pointed to the importance of embracing responsibility in zakat work and the need for zakat employees to be role models reflecting the morals and principles of Islam. He noted that improving zakat work requires combined efforts and continued qualification programs to raise the efficiency and performance of field workers in line with the authority's aspirations to serve society.
At the meeting, attended by Assistant Undersecretary of the Awareness and Communication Sector Ali Al-Dharafi, Director of Awareness and Media at the Authority's headquarters Dr. Mohammed Al-Mushki highlighted the importance of awareness and media efforts in supporting field activities and showcasing zakat projects, legitimate channels of zakat distribution, and their positive impact on society.
For his part, Director of the Zakat Authority Office in the province Mohammed Hazzah described the meeting as a key foundation for developing work mechanisms at the provincial branch and its district offices, contributing to facilitating procedures and serving citizens. He urged all employees to apply the awareness directives in their practical work, exert further efforts to improve performance and overcome field challenges.
Meanwhile, Vice President of Dar Al-Uloom Al-Sharia University in the province Ali Odhabi explained that commitment to honesty and responsibility in carrying out zakat duties represents a true embodiment of faith-based identity and noble religious values.
