Sana'a: An expanded meeting was held on Wednesday in al-Thawra district of the capital Sana'a to discuss the preparations for a field survey of neighborhoods and districts as part of an economic, developmental, and service-oriented empowerment plan. The meeting also addressed the implementation of the Ramadan program at the district level.

According to Yemen News Agency, Dr. Abdulwahab Sharaf al-Din, Head of the Planning Sector at the Sana'a Municipality, underscored that the community's economic empowerment is integral to a broader program aimed at development. He announced that the municipality's budget will be allocated to support developmental and service-oriented projects across the districts.

Sharaf al-Din also called for bolstering al-Thawra Multipurpose Cooperative Society's efforts in gathering comprehensive data that will play a key role in the success of development plans, economic empowerment programs, and initiatives to reduce the import bill-ultimately working towards self-sufficiency.

Field visits to neighborhoods and districts were emphasized as critical for conducting surveys to identify the specific service projects needed in each area. Sharaf Al-Din stressed that the survey reports should be submitted before the 16th of Ramadan, ensuring that the directorate can effectively utilize its allocated funds for economic and service development.

Aqeel al-Saqqaf, Director of the Directorate, reiterated the importance of the multi-purpose cooperative society and the need for an efficient, well-organized database to enable optimal functioning. He also highlighted the key role of the Ramadan program, which includes charitable initiatives, cleanliness drives, and enhanced monitoring of prices, markets, weights, and the quality of goods.

Cultural activist Ibrahim al-Ubaid pointed out that the Quranic project, initiated by the martyred leader, has always been centered on economic empowerment. He stressed the importance of collective action, with a unified focus on economic empowerment, activating the role of productive families, promoting recycling efforts, and making the most of available resources.

Al-Ubaid also emphasized the vital role of mosque preachers in raising awareness of this economic approach, helping transform society into an active, productive community that contributes to the nation's development and growth.
