Expanded Meeting of Media Leaders Focuses on Boycott Awareness and Local Product Support

Sana'a: An expanded meeting of media leaders was held today in Sana'a to enhance awareness of the boycott, support local products, and economic empowerment programs. The meeting was attended by the leadership of the Ministries of Economy, Industry, Investment, and Information, as well as heads of official and private media institutions.

According to Yemen News Agency, the Acting Minister of Economy, Industry, and Investment, Sam Al-Bashiri, emphasized the importance of this meeting to develop a media plan ensuring that all official and private media outlets fulfill their national role in raising public awareness about boycotting American goods, supporting local products, boosting consumer confidence in their quality, and turning this trend into a public culture.

He pointed to the expected role of media in intensifying efforts to support the programs and plans of the Government of Change and Development in economic stimulation, economic empowerment programs, highlighting success stories in this regard, and encouraging individual and community initiatives to engage in work and production.

The Acting Minister of Economy and Industry stressed the importance of media undertaking its role in raising awareness to support economic plans and directions, and countering the hostile campaign by aggression forces that seek to distort any economic plan or direction, amid the economic war facing our country.

For his part, the Deputy Minister of Information for Policies and Content, Chairman of the Joint Media Committee, Dr. Ahmed Al-Shami, highlighted the sensitivity of economic topics and the importance of responsible media coverage that enhances our people's resilience and confronts the economic war on our country by supporting and endorsing economic plans and programs.

He noted that the Ministry of Information has prepared a unified media strategy that meets the requirements and needs of government institutions and incorporates it into the map of various media outlets, including television, radio, newspapers, and activists on social media platforms.

In turn, the Deputy Minister of Information for Relations and External Media, Mohammed Mansour, emphasized the importance of expanding media coverage on boycott issues, supporting national products, introducing economic stimulation and empowerment programs, and enhancing public awareness of these principles to protect national security and sovereignty.

During the meeting, which was attended by the Deputy Minister of Economy for Industry and Economic Cities, Sami Maqbuli, the Deputy Minister of Economy, Fouad Al-Junaid, and the Deputy Chairman of the General Investment Authority, Mohammed Al-Farza'i, provided clarifications on economic stimulation and localization programs.

The expanded meeting, attended by the Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Yemeni News Agency (Saba), Mohammed Abdul Quddous Al-Shar'i, included interventions from media leaders.

A number of recommendations were approved, emphasizing the importance of enhancing coordination among various entities and establishing sustainable media work for all media outlets to promote public awareness of the boycott, support local production, and introduce economic stimulation and empowerment programs.
