Sana'a: The National Center of Meteorology and Early Warning reported that various weather maps indicate an expansion of unstable weather conditions over most parts of the country during the next 24 hours. According to Yemen News Agency, the center forecast in its weather bulletin thunderstorms of varying intensity, heavy at times, accompanied by strong downdraft winds and hail over the governorates of Al Bayda, Al Dhalea, Taiz, Ibb, Raymah, and Dhamar.
Moderate rainfall, sometimes reaching heavy intensity, is also expected over the governorates of Sana'a, Amran, Al Mahwit, Hajjah, and Saada, as well as parts of the Tihama Plain and the western coasts. Scattered rainfall may also occur over parts of the governorates of Lahj and Abyan, the highlands and deserts of Al Mahrah, Hadramout, Shabwah, Marib, and Al Jawf.
The center warned citizens against being in ravines, valleys, and flood channels during and after rainfall, and advised drivers not to cross low-water bridges during floods. It also warned of thunderstorms and advised avoiding elevated areas and being near trees and metal structures that may attract lightning, refraining from using mobile phones, disconnecting electrical power, and staying away from water, to preserve lives.
It further warned of reduced horizontal visibility due to rainfall and the formation of fog on roads and mountain slopes. The center called on the relevant authorities to take appropriate measures to preserve lives and property.
