Sana'a: The fifth Diagnostic Laboratory Medicine Conference, titled "Reality and Aspiration," is scheduled to commence next Tuesday in Sana'a. This event is organized by the Ministry of Public Health and Environment, represented by the National Center for Central Public Health Laboratories.
According to Yemen News Agency, Abdulrahman Al-Wazir, head of the conference's preparatory committee, stated that the conference aims to enhance the academic and professional aspects of laboratory medicine, while also improving the overall quality of medical laboratories. The conference is expected to attract around 1,500 participants, including local and international specialists in laboratory medicine, technical experts, and representatives from medical companies and institutions.
Al-Wazir mentioned that the conference will feature 31 working papers over three days, focusing on various topics such as diagnostic laboratory services, blood transfusion services, comprehensive quality systems, and the relationship between physicians and laboratory technicians.
He further emphasized that the conference will tackle future technical issues related to medical laboratories and high-quality patient testing. He highlighted the significant challenges faced by Yemen's healthcare sector, which include a severe shortage of qualified personnel and modern equipment due to ongoing aggression and blockade.
Al-Wazir viewed the convening of the conference for the fifth time as a testament to the commitment of the Supreme Political Council and the Ministry of Public Health and Environment in exchanging expertise and keeping pace with advancements in laboratory medicine.
He underscored the critical role of diagnostic laboratory medicine as one of the largest professional healthcare groups, essential for diagnosis, treatment, and raising awareness about the significance of laboratory specialists.
