Sana'a: Finance Minister Abduljabbar Ahmed met on Monday with Dr. Abdullah Banyan, Chairman of the National Union of Associations for Persons with Disabilities. The meeting, attended by several heads of associations for motor, hearing, visual, and intellectual disabilities, addressed the conditions of these associations and the overall situation of persons with disabilities in Yemen.
According to Yemen News Agency, discussions centered on the rights of persons with disabilities, particularly their right to education and the need for resources and support for schools dedicated to their needs. The Finance Minister affirmed that supporting persons with disabilities is both a religious and humanitarian duty and a national priority within the Government of Change and Development.
He directed the immediate issuance of financial reinforcements to address budget deficits faced by these associations and centers, preparing for the reopening of schools and resumption of educational activities. The Minister emphasized the importance of simplifying financial procedures related to these associations, treating their financial transactions as a priority, and ensuring that this important segment of society receives the necessary support.
Minister Abduljabbar underscored that the Ministry of Finance will continue to lead in supporting associations for persons with disabilities, adhering to available resources and government directives. Dr. Banyan expressed gratitude for the Finance Minister's swift action and directives to issue financial reinforcements, with association heads praising the Ministry's cooperation and support for persons with disabilities, who deserve all possible care and attention.
