Hodeidah: The First Deputy Governor of Hodeidah, Ahmed Al-Bishri, today launched the Eid clothing project, implemented by the General Zakat Authority in cooperation with the Ithar Charity Foundation. This initiative is part of the Ramadan charity projects aimed at alleviating the suffering of poor and needy families with the approach of Eid al-Fitr.
According to Yemen News Agency, the project targets 1,375 families of the poor, needy, and orphans in the districts of the city quadrant, reaching approximately 5,500 individuals. Each family receives an average of 20,000 riyals, with the project's total cost exceeding 27 million riyals for the year 1447 AH.
During the launch, First Deputy Governor Ahmed Al-Bishri emphasized that the project reflects the directives of the Leader of the Revolution, Sayyed Abdulmalik Badr al-Din al-Houthi, and the political leadership's concern for the poor, needy, and orphans. He noted the project's role in embodying social solidarity and charity during the blessed month of Ramadan.
Al-Bishri highlighted the importance of the Zakat Authority's projects in reducing the suffering of needy families, acknowledging the efforts of the Authority's leadership and its office in Hodeidah Governorate in implementing humanitarian projects that target the most in need.
He affirmed that charitable initiatives embody the religious and human responsibility towards the needy and contribute to enhancing solidarity and compassion among community members, especially during religious seasons when the needs of poor families increase.
Al-Bishri praised the progress achieved by the Zakat Authority in implementing charitable projects according to legitimate channels, which have extended beyond immediate assistance to economic empowerment, affirming that the Authority is now a fundamental pillar in humanitarian and development work.
Director of the Zakat Authority office in the governorate, Mohammed Haza'a, explained that the Eid clothing project is part of the Ramadan charity projects implemented by the Authority to bring joy to the hearts of poor families. He emphasized the Authority's commitment to directing zakat resources to legitimate channels to ensure they reach the real beneficiaries in society.
Haza'a stated that the project targets the poor, needy, and orphans in the districts of the city quadrant, aligning with the Authority's programs aimed at expanding social care and reaching beneficiaries in various districts.
Additionally, the Director of the Banking Department at the Authority's office, Ahmed Mahdi, explained that the project's implementation is part of the Authority's plans and programs aimed at expanding the scope of social care and reaching the beneficiaries among the poor, needy, and orphans in various districts of the governorate.
