Hodeidah: A medical team at Al-Thawra General Hospital in Hodeidah Governorate successfully performed the first inferior vena cava filter (IVC) placement procedure via catheterization on an 80-year-old patient, marking the first such intervention in the governorate.

According to Yemen News Agency, medical examinations revealed that the patient had a large-scale deep vein thrombosis, along with a history of a recent stroke. The filter placement was a preventative measure to protect the patient and ensure his stability until his discharge from the hospital.
