Al-hodeidah: The Chairman of the General Authority for Fisheries in the Red Sea, Hussein Al-Atas, inspected today the ongoing maintenance and rehabilitation works at the Authority's main headquarters building, which are being implemented with self-funding.
According to Yemen News Agency, Al-Atas also reviewed the level of achievement on the new Quality Laboratory building, funded by the Agricultural and Fisheries Projects and Initiatives Financing Unit in the governorate. Accompanied by the Deputy Chairman of the Authority, Abdulmalik Sabra, he received a briefing on the progress of maintenance and rehabilitation works. These works include crack treatment, roof maintenance, rehabilitation of offices and facilities, and replacement of damaged equipment, aimed at providing a suitable work environment and enhancing performance efficiency.
During the visit, the Chairman emphasized the importance of adhering to technical specifications and completing the works promptly. This is to enhance the Authority's readiness to carry out its tasks and develop the level of services provided to the fisheries sector. He also stressed the Authority's commitment to continuous follow-up and evaluation of projects being implemented at the headquarters, ports, and fish landing centers.
The Chairman highlighted the significance of completing the Quality Laboratory building project to enhance the quality control system for fish products. This project is expected to strengthen quality standards and contribute to improving the reputation of Yemeni fish products in both local and foreign markets.
