Hodeida: Fisheries Undersecretary at the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Water Resources, Dr. Fawzi al-Saghir, met with Dean of the Faculty of Marine Sciences and Environment at Hodeida University, Omar al-Saghir, to explore ways to enhance coordination and joint cooperation. The meeting focused on strengthening partnerships to support sustainable fisheries development and aligning educational outcomes with the labor market’s needs.

According to Yemen News Agency, the Undersecretary emphasized the Faculty’s role as a primary scientific and academic resource within the sector. The Ministry is committed to developing a comprehensive and modern digital database for fisheries resources. This initiative will be grounded in field studies and rigorous research by specialized academic staff, contributing to informed administrative and technical decision-making that supports the national economy and ensures the sustainability of fish stocks and food security.

The Dean of the College expressed the institution’s readiness to provide advisory and scientific expertise to support the Ministry’s objectives. This collaboration aims to advance the fisheries and water resources sector, leveraging the academic strengths of the Faculty to benefit national priorities.
