Dhamar: The General Authority for Water Resources and Facilities in Dhamar province has seized five excavators for violating the water law in the districts of Jahran, Anas, and Al-Hadda.
According to Yemen News Agency, the director of the Authority’s branch in the province, Engineer Haitham Al-Ashram, stated that the seizure of the excavators was part of a field campaign conducted in collaboration with security agencies and local councils in the directorates.
Al-Ashram noted that legal actions have been initiated against the seized equipment, and the cases have been referred to the Public Prosecution in compliance with the Water Law, its executive regulations, and the decisions of the Water Basin Committee.
He further emphasized the ongoing efforts in field campaigns and monitoring activities aimed at preventing random drilling of wells and safeguarding groundwater from over-exploitation.
