Sana'a: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates hosted on Tuesday a humanitarian meeting bringing together the crew of Eternity Sea vessel, comprising Filipino and Indian nationals, with Deputy Head of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) Mission, Ferial Radi, the Honorary Consul of the Philippines, Mohammed Al-Jammal, and the representative of the Indian Embassy, Badr Abdulrazzaq.
According to Yemen News Agency, during the meeting, the ICRC deputy head, the honorary consul, and the embassy representative listened to the crew members, who praised the warm treatment and high level of humanitarian care they have received.
The crew expressed their appreciation for the efforts ensuring their ability to maintain regular contact with their families, which brings them reassurance and peace of mind, and reflects the concern for their psychological and moral well-being.
For their part, the heads of the Ministry's Consular Affairs Department, Ambassador Ahmed Omar; Asia and Australia Department, Ambassador Yahya Al-Shahari; and International Organizations and Conferences Department, Ambassador Mohammed Al-Sadah, affirmed that the humanitarian approach toward the vessel's crew reflects religious values and the noble teachings of the Holy Qur'an.
They emphasized that this approach is in line with the humanitarian directives of the Leader of the Revolution, Sayyed Abdul-Malik Badr al-Din al-Houthi, which stress the need to treat all people without discrimination, particularly in humanitarian matters.
Foreign Ministry officials reaffirmed the government's full commitment to respecting all international conventions and treaties related to human rights and its keenness to apply the highest international humanitarian standards in all circumstances.
Following the meeting, a closed session was held between the vessel's crew, the ICRC deputy head, the honorary consul of the Philippines, and the representative of the Indian Embassy.
