Sana'a: An expanded meeting was held in Sana'a on Tuesday, chaired by the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Jamal Amer, to discuss ways to develop Yemeni diplomatic work and enhance its future prospects in service of the country's supreme interests.
According to Yemen News Agency, the meeting included undersecretaries of the Foreign Ministry and heads of political and consular departments, who reviewed the draft of the ministry's new organizational regulations submitted by the technical committee of the Higher Integration Committee. These regulations aim to modernize and develop the legal and administrative frameworks of the ministry.
During the meeting, Minister Amer emphasized that the directives of the Revolution Leader, Sayyid Abdulmalik Badruddin Al-Houthi, focus on comprehensive and radical change to address negative aspects hindering the progress of diplomatic and consular work and facilitate citizens' transactions.
He highlighted the importance of leveraging existing positive aspects and utilizing the expertise and competencies within the ministry, affirming that the reform process does not mean excluding or marginalizing dedicated national talents.
The Foreign Minister clarified that the ministry operates under Diplomatic and Consular Corps Law No. (2) of 1991 and its amendments, most recently Law No. (5) of 2021, which reaffirms the special and independent nature of diplomatic personnel. He noted that the upcoming organizational regulations fully comply with legal provisions and reflect the unique requirements of diplomatic work, both for the current stage and in consideration of the future outlook of Yemeni foreign policy.
Minister Amer also underscored the importance of close and continuous coordination between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs, Expatriates, Civil Service, Administrative Development, and Finance to enhance institutional government work. This aligns with the General Program of the Government of Change and Construction, aiming to build a modern, strong state based on solid institutional foundations.
The meeting witnessed constructive discussions and an exchange of views on all agenda items. Participants reaffirmed the ministry's commitment to the directives of the Leader, aimed at improving the quality of services provided to Yemeni citizens at home and abroad.
Additionally, the meeting expressed absolute support for the military operations by the Yemeni Armed Forces in solidarity with their counterparts in Gaza, until the cessation of Zionist aggression and the unconditional entry of humanitarian, food, medical, and fuel aid is secured.
