Taiz: Al-Rahedah Customs Center in Taiz Governorate thwarted three smuggling operations involving quantities of cigarettes, electronic shisha devices, and therapeutic food for children.
According to Yemen News Agency, the center's director, Mohammed Rashad, stated that the seizures were carried out in coordination with the Anti-Smuggling Unit, Customs Enforcement, Security, and Intelligence. He explained that two smuggling attempts of cigarettes and e-shisha were foiled along the Aden-Hayfan-Rahedah route, while the third attempt-involving 4,413 bags of therapeutic food for children-was intercepted in the Ka'abeen area.
Rashad stressed that these operations come as part of intensified efforts by the Tax and Customs Authority to combat the smuggling of banned and restricted goods and to protect society from their health and economic risks. He praised the vigilance of the anti-smuggling staff, customs enforcement officers, and the cooperation of relevant agencies in ensuring the success of these operations.
He further noted that Al-Rahedah Customs Center will spare no effort in fulfilling its duties to combat the smuggling of all prohibited and unauthorized goods into the country.
