Foreign Minister Engages with Expatriates Sector Leadership to Address Challenges

Sana’a: The Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Jamal Amer, met today with the leadership of the Expatriates Sector and the directors of the ministry’s offices in the governorates, to discuss the challenges facing expatriates and the offices concerned with them, especially in light of the current circumstances.

According to Yemen News Agency, the Minister emphasized the importance of addressing the issues of expatriates through continuous communication, as directed by Abdul-Malik Al-Houthi. He announced the near completion of an operations and complaints room for expatriates, intended to receive complaints and transfer them to the competent authorities for follow-up.

Furthermore, the Minister urged sector officials to strengthen ties between expatriates and their homeland. He encouraged awareness of the new investment law that offers facilities for expatriate investors and stressed the necessity of providing support to enhance the capacities of expatriates, enabling them to be active contributors in their countries of residence.

The meeting included an open discussion on the difficulties faced by the ministry’s offices in the governorates, leading to several recommendations aimed at enhancing their role in serving Yemeni expatriates.
