Sanaa: A meeting was held today to form the preparatory committee of the Shoaoub Multipurpose Community Cooperative, in the presence of Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Local Administration and Rural Development, Mohammed Al-Madani.
According to Yemen News Agency, the meeting was also attended by Assistant Undersecretary of the Ministry of Local Administration, Khalil Al-Qurashi; Director of Initiatives at the Ministry, Abdu Masri; Director of Associations at the Social Affairs Office in the Capital Secretariat, Nabil Rajeh; and Shoaoub District Secretary-General, Mohammed Al-Hadrami. The discussions focused on ways to activate community roles in local development.
The mechanism for selecting the preparatory committee was reviewed, along with the preparation of the Association's bylaws and organizational regulations for its official launch. The aim is to advance developmental work and strengthen the role of 'development champions' in the Shoaoub District.
Deputy Prime Minister Al-Madani stressed the importance of reviving cooperative and solidarity-based initiatives, and emphasized cleanliness and afforestation. He expressed satisfaction with the momentum shown by the district's youth and local authorities in adopting this initiative.
He further outlined the need for effective mobilization at this critical stage, encouraging communities to make use of opportunities to empower themselves in manufacturing. Rural areas would supply raw materials while cities engage in industrial production. Significant support is noted from the Capital Secretariat's local authority and the General Authority of Zakat in strengthening economic empowerment.
Participants underscored the importance of translating leadership directives into practical plans and programs. They focused on raising awareness about volunteer work methodology and enhancing the role of associations and community initiatives across development and service fields.
