Al-zuhra: The Grameen Yemen Foundation will launch its 25th free eye surgery camp next Sunday in Al-Zuhra district, targeting 350 surgeries and offering vital eye care services to low-income patients across Hodeidah Governorate.
According to Yemen News Agency, the five-day camp, to be held in the Al-Ma'ras area, is organized in coordination with the Ministry of Health and Environment Yemen and its local office. It will provide free medical examinations, cataract removal surgeries, lens implantation, and medication to patients in need.
Camp director Nasr al-Dabab stated that the first two days will be dedicated to screening and diagnosing patients to determine cases requiring surgical intervention, while the remaining days will focus on performing the operations.
The initiative is part of the foundation's ongoing humanitarian efforts to ease the suffering of vulnerable communities. Previous camps have delivered services to thousands of patients and carried out 7,860 free cataract surgeries, helping restore vision and improve quality of life for beneficiaries in underserved areas.
