Paris: Fuel consumption in France dropped by 14 percent during May due to rising prices as a result of the American Zionist aggression on Iran. French Economy Minister Roland Lescure announced on Friday that fuel consumption in France fell by 14 percent between 1 and 20 May compared to the same period last year due to increased costs resulting from the war in the Middle East.
According to Yemen News Agency, Lescure told reporters that the French are driving slightly less, carpooling, and perhaps working remotely more, pointing out that these measures are part of supporting the most affected groups. The French government had announced on Thursday new aid worth 710 million euros to cope with rising fuel prices.
Current sectoral aid for farmers, transport, fishing, and construction has been extended until next summer, and companies have been urged to pay a fuel bonus to employees.
