Over 140 people were killed when a fuel tanker exploded in northern Nigeria late last night, according to the latest toll released by local relief teams on Wednesday. According to AFP, police spokesman Lawan Chisso Adam said many of the victims were trying to collect fuel that spilled onto the road in Nigeria's northern state of Jigawa after the tanker crashed due to loss of control.
