Sana'a: The General Authority for Endowments and Guidance honored and hosted 270 orphans from the Al-Shawkani Foundation for Orphan Care in celebration of the Prophet Muhammad's birthday.
According to Yemen News Agency, the initiative was part of the fifth phase of the Authority's annual 'Cooperate in Righteousness and Piety' project, with a budget of four billion riyals. The ceremony featured Sheikh Muqbil Al-Kadahi, Deputy Head of the General Authority for Endowments and Guidance for Hajj and Guidance Affairs, who emphasized the importance of commemorating the Prophet's birthday as a way to recall and emulate his values of mercy, love, and benevolence.
Al-Kadahi highlighted the Authority's charitable and humanitarian initiatives as expressions of social responsibility and solidarity, aiming to strengthen bonds of affection and brotherhood within society. He noted the Authority's commitment to caring for orphans and bringing joy to their lives. He also called for active participation in the central celebration of the Prophet's birthday on 12 Rabi' al-Awwal.
Walid Al-Alawi, Director of the Endowments and Guidance Office in the capital, remarked that the Prophet's birthday offers an opportunity to draw lessons from the life of the noble Prophet, who advocated for justice, love, and humanity. He noted that the Authority's activities under the fifth phase of the 'Cooperate in Righteousness and Piety' project benefit diverse groups, including orphans, blind individuals, cancer and kidney-failure patients, Islamic studies students, and inmates.
Al-Alawi emphasized that beneficiaries of endowment properties who meet their obligations enable the Authority to expand its charitable programs in line with donors' conditions. The ceremony included speeches by Dhaifallah Al-Jabri, Director of Orphan Affairs at Al-Shawkani Foundation, and a representative of the orphans, both of whom highlighted the significance of the occasion and praised the Authority's efforts.
The event concluded with Quranic recitations, religious chants, and the honoring of the Al-Shawkani Foundation's orphans, followed by a luncheon in their honor.
