New york: Gold prices fell in early trading on Tuesday, affected by the easing of concerns about an escalation in the global tariff war, along with a rise in the U.S. dollar, as investors await new signals from the Federal Reserve regarding the path of interest rates.
According to Yemen News Agency, the spot price of gold decreased by 0.2% to reach $3308.39 per ounce as of 00:24 GMT, after having touched its lowest level since July 9 in the previous session. U.S. gold futures also declined by 0.1% to $3306.20 per ounce.
The U.S. dollar index remained near its highest level in more than a week, increasing the cost of gold for buyers holding other currencies.
Silver in spot trading fell by 0.1% to $38.12 per ounce, platinum rose by 0.4% to $1395.75, and palladium dropped by 0.7% to $1237.88.
